8950 AAA Supported Platforms

8950 AAA is supported on the following platforms:

Note: Several of the above operating systems have 64-bit versions. Currently, 8950 AAA is supported on all above 64-bit operating systems using the 32-bit version of Java. 8950 AAA has full support for the 64-bit version of Java on 64-bit versions of Solaris and Windows. When using the 64-bit version of Java on other 64-bit operating systems, the following restrictions apply:
  • GetPWNam does not work on Unix systems.
  • Kill does not work.
  • No PID support.
  • NT Authentication does not work.
Java Requirements

Before you can install 8950 AAA, the Sun Java Virtual Machine must be installed on your system. This is typically called the Java Standard Edition version 7. If you do not have version 7 or later of the Java, follow the link below to obtain a copy of the JDK or JRE:

Additional Notes
It is important that any required OS Patches for your OS and Java combination be installed
If using Solaris, the current security and recommended patches must be installed
8950 AAA also works on most UNIX systems, including other releases of Linux.
Use on other platforms is not officially supported and not all features may be available.
